Your Beauty Treats

Cowshed Wild Cow Invigorating Body Lotion – Full Size £20.00

Glossy Box Review - August 2016

Cowshed’s Wild Cow Invigorating Body Lotion hydrates your skin, leaving it feeling totally revitalised, while naturally moisturising cocoa butter and vitamin E, an antioxidant that helps protect the skin from signs of premature ageing deeply nourish for amazingly soft skin.  It’s fresh blend of essential oils leave you revitalised and refreshed while its paraben, sulphate and petrochemical free formula is also suitable for vegetarians and contains no artificial colours or fragrances either!  I love Cowshed Body Products – they always smell amazing and leave your skin looking and feeling fabulous without the nasty chemical overload you get from some skin care on the market, so this invigorating body lotion was a treat to see in my August Glossy Box, I just wish it had been a little bigger in size as even though it is enriched with cocoa butter – it isn’t rich enough for my parched Summer skin and I needed to use a lot more of the lotion to get my skin feeling soft and smooth than I expected to!

Spa to You Deep Pore Facial Cleansing Brush – Full Size £6.99

Glossy Box Review - August 2016

First there was cleansing balm, then oil and now everyone is using a cleansing brush to keep their skin spotless and glowing!  The soft bristles are specially designed to help buff away dead skin cells for a deep but gentle facial cleanse, and with a combination of silky bristles and silicone cushions help to massage the skin, improving micro-circulation giving you a renewed radiance instantly!  It’s really simple to use and can be used with your normal cleansing product too and as I have wanted to try one of the electric cleansing brushes for quite a while now, starting off with the manual version may be a good test of whether this style of cleansing will suit my skin or not, and I did find it gave my skin a fresh, clean and radiant look to it, and the soft bristles effectively cleansed my skin without causing irritation but I feel that an electric brush would give much better results with half the effort so this brush won’t be added to my daily cleansing routine!

MUA Eyeshadow Palette in Heaven and Earth – Full Size £4.00

Glossy Box Review - August 2016

MUA’s Heaven and Earth Palette is the perfect mix of neutrals, containing everything you need to create a gorgeous natural eye look with the sweep of a brush!  Just add one of its light, shimmering shades along the brow bone, then brush any one of the beautiful bronze shades over the lid for the easiest and most foolproof neutral smokey eye ever!  I have to say although I love MUA Palettes as they are not only great quality but amazing value for money – I was a little disappointed with this palette for one simple reason – it wasn’t the palette I was expecting in this months Glossy Box Edit!  I had asked to receive the Hall of Fame Palette as I have a very similar bronzed palette from Make Up Revolution – another budget brand I love – so wanted a slightly different twist on the Summer neutral shadows I swear by at this time of year!  I do like the colours in this palette however I would’ve liked the chance to experiment with the palette I had chosen from the four Glossy Box had shortlisted for their subscribers back in July!  This was an issue a lot of subscribers faced this month, which isn’t at all like Glossy Box, but luckily they are sending everyone their chosen palettes out with their September boxes so I am looking forward to a bumper box next month and two gorgeous MUA Palettes to play with!

Mudmasky Facial Detox Purifying Recovery Mask – Full Size £60.00

Glossy Box Review - August 2016

Suitable for all skin types, this purifying mud mask is a natural way to detoxify and renew your skin within just a few minutes.  Refining pores, brightening your complexion and ensuring your skin stays healthy, hydrated and smooth at the same time, the Facial Detox Mask from Mudmasky helps to balance your skin’s natural pH for visibly healthier, energized skin!  Easy to apply and remove – this mask is a refreshing treat during the Summer heat and can easily be adapted to suit any skin type!  I have wanted to try this mud mask for so long now so I was super excited to see it in my August Glossy Box and I wasn’t disappointed!  Its fresh, tingling feel instantly cools and soothes tired Summer skin and balances natural oil levels with in the skin for a brighter and more radiant complexion!  I have combination skin normally but at this time of year I edge into the oily category so the fact this mask can be adjusted to suit changes in your skin through out the year is ideal for me and makes it the perfect product for all your seasonal skin care needs!  I have loved trying this purifying recovery mask, and will be enjoying the handy 20% discount code Glossy Box have also included in their bumper birthday beauty box too!

Exclusive Rae Feather Mini Monogram Pochette – Full Size £20.00

Glossy Box Review - August 2016

Fashion bloggers and celebrities alike are obsessed with Rae Feather’s luxury accessories right now, and her monogrammed palm saw clutches, totes and baskets have graced the arms of Poppy Delavigne and Louise Redknapp and have also been spotted on the beach with the likes of Colleen Rooney and many more – so this month to help celebrate their fifth birthday Glossy Box have treated you to an exclusive Rae Feather’s Monogrammed Pochette so you can officially become part of the jet set too!  Designed exclusively for Glossy Box, this perfectly proportioned pochette is ideal for stashing all your make-up and beauty essentials when you are travelling and adds a dash of style to your beauty routine with its pretty pink and white GB Monogram which beautifully matches their fabulous Collectors Edition Box this month!  Plus all Glossy Box subscribers will also benefit from an exclusive 10% off their first order on Rae Feathers website too!  Nice!

My Verdict

With Summer sunshine a daily occurrence and the Rio Olympics taking over our TV screens, what better time of year to celebrate your birthday?  The gorgeous Monogramed Collectors Edition Box and matching designer pochette from Rae Feather are so pretty and the exclusive ‘GB’ Glossy Box Monogram also works well for supporting Team GB too which I love!  The product line up is as amazing as the pochette and packaging with a selection of luxury skin care and must-have make-up items that will keep you looking party ready all month long!  I have wanted to try the Mudmasky Facial Detox Purifying Recovery Mask for some time now, so I loved this generous travel sized sample in this months Glossy Box and I have really enjoyed getting my glow on with this and the Spa to You Facial Cleansing Brush too!  I love the MUA Eyeshadow Palette, although I was disappointed to not get the palette I chose back in July.  MUA’s Palettes prove that quality doesn’t always come with a hefty price tag and the twelve strong palette gives you a great selection of bronzed shades to create smouldering smokey eyes this Summer!  Cowshed have also been featured which is good – I love their skin care as it is full of natural skin-loving ingredients – but I would’ve liked a little more than the small 30ml bottle purely as it is such a light lotion for my dehydrated Summer skin which drank this fresh, fragrant body product up like it was water!  Although it is enriched with cocoa butter – my skin needs something a little more than this lightweight lotion.  Over all though this months jam-packed, bumper birthday beauty box is a great value for money treat during the scorching Summer heat and the addition of the on-trend Rae Feather Monogrammed Pochette is a great little bonus treat and makes this box a really special edit!  Celebrating their birthday in true Glossy Box style – this months Collectors Edition Box is defiantly one of my favourite Glossy Edits so far this year!

My Beauty Favourite

After wanting to try this purifying mud mask for so long – my August Beauty Favourite has to be the Mudmasky Facial Detox Purifying Recovery Mask!  I loved the tingling sensation it leaves on your skin, and the fact it can be adjusted to suit your skin type and seasonal skin needs is perfect for my ever-changing hormonal skin!  Although it is an expensive skin care investment, only a thin layer is needed to get a great result, meaning it will last a lot longer than other mud masks I have tried in the past!
