Lord & Lady Box Review – November 2016

Lord & Lady Box Review - November 2016

Lord & Lady Box launched earlier this month and is a high-end Beauty Box that aims to bring the woman of the UK the best skin care and make-up that mother nature has to offer along with a few additional treats to ensure you’re left feeling like the Lady of your own Manor every time your Box arrives!  This month they have picked a selection of seasonal skin care and make-up treats to ensure their launch is set to impress and with big brands like Balm Balm and Evolve Organic Beauty featuring in their November line up, you can see why this box is a special one!  I adore natural and organic beauty products and find they are much nicer to use as well as being better for both you and the environment so I am really happy to see another beauty box devoted to all things organic arriving on the Beauty Box scene, so I hope it lives up to its luxurious name and chooses only the best beauty treats to enjoy this month!

Evolve Organic Beauty Daily Renew Natural Face Cream – Full Size £24.00

Lord & Lady Box Review - November 2016

A firm favourite beauty brand for me – Evolve Organic Beauty has an amazing selection of skin care and body products that not only suit my super sensitive skin but also smell like utter heaven too and this jar of their Renew Natural Face Cream is no different!  A new product for me, this organic natural moisturiser helps restore normal to dry skin with its blend of pure organic oils and natural superfoods and delivers real and long lasting results with out the need for harsh or harmful chemicals.  Containing rich organic Argan Oil, which is high in natural Vitamin E and fatty acids, this luxurious cream helps nourish the skin, repairing dryness and damage while its powerful antioxidant properties work to prevent further skin damage, improve skins elasticity and leaves skin feeling soft and plump and looking radiant.  Natural Hyaluronic Acid, one of natures most effective moisturisers, soothes and hydrates the skin, helping to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, improve skin tone and help boost collagen production with in the skin making you look – and feel – more youthful than ever!  Delicately fragranced with natural vanilla & coconut which are both hypoallergenic and soothing as well, this cream is ideal for the bitter Winter months and gives your Winter worn skin the exact hit of hydration it needs to stay healthy and happy when the wind is blowing and the rain is falling!  Although I do have oily/combination skin as my main skin concern, I also suffer badly with dehydrated skin too which often makes my oily skin worse, so this natural, hypoallergenic cream is ideal to help saturate my skin with moisture thanks to the Hyaluronic Acid and natural Argan Oil, without clogging my pores or encouraging oily break outs or blemishes to appear!  I adore the scent of this cream too, it is like a tropical island of goodness for my skin and will help keep my spirits lifted as well as my skin looking good this Winter!

Balm Balm Rose Floral Water – Full Size £12.50

Lord & Lady Box Review - November 2016

Another of my beauty favourites – I have been a true Balm Balm devotee since first trying their products at the Olympia Beauty Show back in 2006 (yes I am really showing my age now but luckily with age comes a little wisdom…..) but although Rose is one of my favourite natural fragrances and I love every product from Balm Balm I have tried so far, I have yet to try their Rose Floral Water so seeing this refreshing and fragrant treat inside my first Lord & Lady Box was a big plus point!  Suitable for dry, sensitive and combination skins this gentle mist has soothing and balancing properties and the beautiful fragrance of Rose Damascena Essential Oil makes for the perfect ‘pick me up’ as well as an ideal skin tonic to use as part of your daily skin care routine!  This delicate Essential Oil is also known to help dispel anger and aid self-confidence too making this floral treat not just uplifting to smell and to feel on your skin, but it will also help uplift your mood too, and we all need a little help relaxing and loving ourselves over the Festive Season as it is all too often about shopping, cooking, parties and family over just taking time out to be you, so for all these reasons and the fact it is 100% natural and organic and leaves my skin refreshed and radiant as well as smelling delicious – I love this Floral Water and will definitely be adding it to my Balm Balm ‘must-have’ list!

Ooh! Oils of Heaven Organic Baobab Rejuvenating Face Oil – Full Size £19.00

Lord & Lady Box Review - November 2016

I have seen Ooh! a lot on blogs and social media feeds lately and have been interested to see exactly what this new Organic Facial Oil is all about so seeing their Organic Baobab Rejuvenating Face Oil in my first Lord & Lady Box is rather exciting!  As you may already know I am a huge fan of Facial Oils and have used them religiously for years now, so this new line, Oils of Heaven, could be a new skin care saviour for me@  This Organic Oil is made using 100% Baobab Oil , which is not an oil I have used on its own before, but it is rich in Omega 3, 6 and 9 making it ideal as a rejuvenating treatment oil to help maintain healthy, youthful looking skin and makes an excellent all round moisturiser suitable for all skin types, including oily and combination skin.  It’s easily spread, meaning only a little of this nourishing oil is needed to get great results and as it is absorbed quickly into the skin it won’t leave your skin feeling greasy and won’t clog the pores either.  Although it doesn’t smell as good as my usual facial oils, and doesn’t contain any additional essential oils to give added benefits to the skin, it does ensure that your skin is healthy and hydrated without looking overloaded or feeling oily.  Its rich, nourishes formula keeps hydration locked in which is great for the Winter months and the colder weather but good as this oil is – I probably would choose to purchase it again in the future purely because I prefer Facial Oils that are blended with both base oils and essential oils as they not only smell nicer, but they give a more potent and holistic result in my opinion.

Bellápierre Mineral Lipstick in Ruby – Full Size £15.99

Lord & Lady Box Review - November 2016

I have begun to have a little bit of a Love/Hate relationship with Bellápierre Mineral Make-Up of late as I seem to have been finding a lot of their Eyeshadows and Lipsticks in my regular beauty boxes, which on its own isn’t a bad thing as Bellápierre make great Make-Up, but you always receive either a dark smokey grey eyeshadow – so many I have built up a major stash in my Beauty room now – or an awful frosted orange shade of lipstick (I can’t remember the name of the shade – something like Fire I think, but it just isn’t flattering to my skin tone at all) you start to get a bit despondent so when I saw a beautiful bright red in my Lord & Lady Box this month I could’ve kissed the Delivery Man as not only was it NOT orange – it was also a full-sized lipstick not a mini or sample size to boot!  Happy days!  So not only do I have a 100% Natural Mineral Lipstick that delivers a long-lasting, nourishing colour with its smooth and silky formula, I have also got the perfect party season pout sorted too!  The luxuriously nourishing formula offers great protection for my lips as well as adding a splash of colour and with a natural SPF as well, your lips are in good hands with Bellápierre!  I love this lipstick!  Everything from the colour to the brand is perfect as red is THE colour for the Festive Season and you need a lipstick that not only stays put for the full length of the party, but also won’t dry your lips and leave them parched either, and Bellápierre’s blend of natural waxes and mineral rich pigments does just that!  Thank you Lord & Lady Box – your Lipstick has not disappointed!  Mwah!

Bonus Treats

CRU Kafe Dark Roast Nespresso® Compatible Coffee Capsules – Full Size £3.50

Lord & Lady Box Review - November 2016

As well as some delicious beauty treats this month Lord & Lady Box are also treating all their subscribers to a handy hit of caffeine as well to help perk you up on those cold, dark Winter mornings and make your regular ‘rose and shine’ easier and less like the trial by combat it seems to be at the moment, and of course this isn’t just ANY old coffee – its CRU Kafe’s Dark Roasted Indonesian Blend Coffee which is full-bodied, rich and most importantly strong!  Now I am not usually a coffee drinker, but I loved the sound of this blends notes of Cocoa, Molasses and Ripe Fruit, and as CRU Kafe was founded by three friends who wanted to get the best possible coffee out of their Nespresso® machines – I thought it may be worth a try!  Although it will never make me a regular coffee drinker these handy coffee pods are a great wy to bring quality, ethically sourced barista style coffee into your home without breaking the bank or taking excesses amounts of time which, lets face it, none of us have on a Water morning as we are never able to crawl out of bed on time and are always running a ‘little bit late’ so this strong and deep bodied blend is just the ticket to get you back on track – just think Starbucks in your own home, but less expensive, quicker and 100% organic and ethically sourced too!  Perfect!

My Verdict

With so many beauty boxes on the market here in the UK now it is often hard to see the difference between each subscription, but when it comes to independent boxes like the Lord & Lady Box the difference is a lot more clear as they not only offer a line up of full size and deluxe travel sized items over small samples sizes and down trodden, discounted beauty dregs, they offer HIGH END full size and deluxe travel sized items so you are always getting a good deal no matter what month you happen to subscribe on!  They are consistently good quality and give amazing quantity too, and this is why I love them.  The Lord & Lady Box is the latest addition to the independent Beauty Box team and it hasn’t failed to meet the high standards set by its predecessors and its selection of natural and organic beauty fits perfectly with the time of year and with the fact they offer a high-end beauty subscription that spoils woman from head to toe!  This month they have chosen four beauty items, a skin care regime with a day cream, night oil and toner to help keep your skin looking sensational when the Winter weather is trying to spoil the show, along with a beautiful Red Lipstick which, lets face it is a staple of any girls party season wardrobe and is the ideal choice for a November Beauty Box and a handy ‘pick me up’ treat of some luxury Dark Roasted Coffee from Organic Coffee makers CRU Kafe which not only makes a tasty addition but also a much needed one if you’re anything like me when it comes to getting out of bed when it’s still dark in the morning!  All the skin care is very usable, fitting in with my regular skin care routine, and their selections are great for all skin types too, meaning you won’t need to worry about blemishes or break outs, dry patches or dull skin spoiling your festivities this year!  The brands they have curated are also really great with two of my favourite Organic Beauty Brands making an appearance, and the fact they have included both skin care and make-up is a welcome sight too!  I love the classic packaging of the box, it is simple but sophisticated and the timeless white and gold contrast well to create a luxury but eco-friendly container for your monthly beauty treats and it is big enough to use as a ‘beauty stash’ after you’ve explored the contents which is something I am in desperate need of right now!  Over all I love the products choices, and have discovered two products I will definitely be using on a regular basis going forward in the Balm Balm Floral Water and the Evolve Beauty Face Cream and I also have party perfect lips as well so what else could I want?  A great opening box and I a looking forward to seeing what Lord & Lady Box have planned for their December line up!

My Beauty Favourite

My November Beauty Favourite has to be the Balm Balm Rose Floral Water as it is such a deliciously scented, soothing skin care essential for all year round and as it is one of the few Balm Balm products I haven’t already tried at some point over the last ten or so years it is great to explore not only a new side of the brand but also to indulge my love of the Rose and the beautifully scented Essential Oil that it makes!  A real winner for me and works really well with other Rose based Balm Balm products I have also been trying out this month!  Thank you Lord & Lady Box – I love this Floral Water so much!
