The Pip Box – Cruelty Free Beauty in a Box

The Pip Box - Cruelty Free Beauty in a Box

It’s a new month and I am excited to share the news that another New Beauty Box is launching in the UK early next year!  The Pip Box is new independent Beauty Box that focuses on providing Cruelty Free Beauty at an amazing price to help encourage as many people as possible to make the switch and go Cruelty Free in 2017.  Inspired by their founder’s lovely dog Pippa, The Pip Box strongly believe that Cruelty Free Beauty should be easily accessible to everyone and that supporting Cruelty Free Brands is the easiest way to accomplish their mission, which simply put, is to help end cosmetic testing on animals for good, so by subscribing to The Pip Box you won’t just be helping support a small UK based business you will also be taking a stand against all the beauty brands that still undertake animal testing even though it has been banned in the UK since 1998, but that isn’t all as although this is The Pip Box’s inspiration and mission, they also want to make sure their subscribers get a great selection of beauty treats to enjoy every month too!  This means they will be cramming up to five full-sized, luxury travel sized or deluxe sample sized products from big name ethical brand such as Bloomtown and Saturated Colour into each of their monthly boxes with no tiny sachet samples in site!  Yay!  So with a great line up of brands, great value for money and a great mission, The Pip Box takes all the effort out of going Cruelty Free and provides you with a fantastic selection of skin care, make up, hair care and body products to sample each an every month making life not just easier but kinder and ethical too!

What’s does it Cost?

The Pip Box has two simple Subscription plans at present – the first is a standard rolling monthly subscription which costs £14.99 per box plus £3.35 P&P and renews automatically at the end of every month.  This is the most expensive of the two options but is the most flexible way to subscribe as you are able to cancel at any time.  However if you want to save some money their three month ‘Pre-Paid’ plan costs £40.50 plus P&P, meaning your per box price is just £13.50 plus £3.35 P&P saving you £1.50 per month which isn’t bad at all!  Just like other subscription boxes the full three months subscription fee is payable up front, along with the full P&P but you do make a good saving on the monthly cost of your box, and as it is a relatively short period as far a pre-paid subscriptions go, the cost isn’t overly scary and quite easily manageable compared to other boxes on the market.  They do not have any longer pre-paid subscription options as yet as they have only just launched their pre-orders for February 2017, but I am sure these will follow along with one-off box options and remember the three month pre-paid subscription option can also be used as a gift subscription, so makes an ideal present for that special day later this month….. Hint, Hint! And remember The Pip Box currently have an awesome introductory offer on their new monthly subscriptions and will be offering ongoing offers as their box grows so it is always worth visiting their website to check these out.

The Pro’s and Con’s

I have to say it – really, what is not to love about the latest Independent Beauty Box to hit the market this year?  Everything from their inspiration and mission, to their product choices and price point is absolutely spot on for me!  I am a huge advocate for Cruelty Free Cosmetics and always try to buy from Ethical Brands where I can, and avoid brands I know have a dubious reputation with animal testing like th plague, something which has also been enforced on to my poor, long-suffering husband who is no longer allowed to pick up which ever shower gel is cheapest at Sainsbury’s JUST IN CASE it isn’t a Cruelty Free company that makes it, so seeing a UK based box that is as committed to going Cruelty Free as me is really great!  The fact that The Pip Box will be selecting products for their monthly box from all areas of the Cruelty Free Beauty Industry is also a big selling point for me as I adore natural and organic and natural brands, and it is always good to see the bigger names along with some multi-award winners being featured too as you know you will always be getting the very best Cruelty Free products available each month!  I also think it is a great way to encourage people who maybe aren’t sure about which brands are and aren’t Cruelty Free to actually make the change and show them that you don’t have to compromise quality to maintain your ethics, and as the cost of each box isn’t much more than the regular Beauty Boxes already on the market which can contain brands that aren’t Cruelty Free, but don’t tell you either way, having this kind of guarantee in place is both reassuring and exciting!  I like the face The Pip Box is avoiding the small sample and sachet route too, as if there is one thing that infuriates me about a Beauty Box is a tiny tester that is no good to anyone, and with up to five products in each box with an approximate monthly value of around £35.00 you get a lot for your money each month too!  The Pip Box is also planning on helping support Ethical Charities as well as Ethical Beauty Brands too by donating fifty pence to Charitable Causes for each box sold, so as well as indulging your love of beauty, getting great value for money and supporting the Cruelty Free movement you will also be helping raise money to help Charities continue their hard work as well so this really is an all-round ‘feel good’ box for any beauty enthusiast, but I have to say I think my favourite thing about this box is why the box was created in the first place!

The Pip Box - Cruelty Free Beauty in a Box

Pippa, the founders beautiful dog, is cute enough to convince even the biggest critic to go Cruelty Free, and she is what first made her owner to make the change, and as an animal lover and pet owner myself, it is easy to see why people want to support products that aren’t tested on animals, but don’t worry, The Pip Box team aren’t here to lecture anyone about their beauty choices, they just want to inform everyone that there is an alternative more ethical way to shop for beauty products and that going Cruelty Free doesn’t have to cost a fortune either!  I am really excited about the launch of The Pip Box and with one of my favourite brands, Bloomtown, already confirmed in their launch box line up, February cannot come soon enough for me as I am already in love with Pippa and this small, but mighty little Beauty Box!
