January has seen several new Beauty Boxes launch so far, but the New Artemis & Xena Box is a Subscription Box with a difference, as instead of focusing on beauty or fashion related treats this Box is inspired by our need for a little Mindfulness and Self-Care and has focused on ensuring we get the tools and techniques to take care of our mental and physical well-being as well as making sure our make-up is on-point! This new concept on the UK Subscription Box market combines the traditional beauty treats with health and wellness goodies to provide subscribers with a well deserved and holistic monthly treat that offers more than just mascara! Inspired by its founder’s own struggles with Mental Health issues while at University, this unique Box shows you how to make time for yourself, enjoy who you are and make the most of the ‘me time’ you have each month making this a great Box for anyone struggling to find their balance or just wants to soothe their soul as well as top up their make-up bag! Designed to empower and boost woman’s self-confidence, it may be hard to see why a Box like this wasn’t created previously, but with the popularity of independent Subscription Boxes soaring right now, it is better late than never and I have some really high hopes for this refreshing take on the traditional Beauty Box!
What’s does it Cost?
Artemis & Xena currently have two subscription options to choose from, a monthly rolling subscription which costs £15.00 per month plus £3.99 P&P and a pre-paid three monthly subscription which costs just £30.00 making your monthly Box just £10.00 plus £3.99 P&P per month. Both options renew automatically at the end of each monthly/three monthly period and can be cancelled at any time, and you can also purchase Gift Subscriptions and One-Off Boxes from the Artemis & Xena Shop if you want to spoil a friend or loved one, or try a box before you commit to a full subscription which makes the Artemis & Xena Box both flexible and great value for money too! Remember Artemis & Xena often have introductory offers on their monthly subscriptions so it is always worth visiting their website to check these out.
Am I a Subscriber?
As the Artemis & Xena Box has only just launched I am not currently a Subscriber, however I am reviewing their January Box on my Blog soon so be sure to look out for exactly what to expect from this new wellbeing-based subscription box!
The Pro’s and Con’s
Having suffered with Mental health issues myself in the past I really love the idea behind this box, and although even up to a year ago I may not have been so open to the idea of mindfulness and self-care, after taking time to really put ME first I can totally understand why it is so therapeutic and such an important part of staying emotionally and physically healthy and fulfilled, so I really cannot wait for this box to arrive on my doorstep so I can explore it further! Ani, the founder of the Artemis & Xena Box has a really clear goal with her Box – to empower young woman and teenagers, encouraging them to love themselves and look after themselves no matter what, which on its own is a hugely important message and shows enormous strength on her part, and the fact she has put so much love and detail onto creating her very own wellness box proves how dedicated she is to helping people avid the problems she faced when she was at University. Mental Health is still very much a taboo subject and so misunderstood by a lot of people and as quite often those who suffer with mental health problems not properly understanding them, it is easy to see why this ‘stigma’ remains – so seeing this box being so open about the need for self-care and the need for a little ‘me time’ is refreshing and exciting for me! I really hope that it shows people that mental and physical health issues don’t define people and that with the right support everyone can live happily! I also like that this box combines several types of self-care support with make-up and beauty products included along side craft ideas, colouring books and mindfulness sheets created by Ani herself making this Box a really holistic way to spoil yourself each month! It is also really well priced for a Lifestyle based subscription box with plans starting from just £10.00 a month (plus P&P) which makes it accessible to younger people as well as those who don’t have the money to splash out all the time too which I think is a great way to go about such a thoughtful subscription box! Although it is aimed mainly at the younger end of the subscription box market at the moment, I would still imagine the contents being appealing to more mature ladies as well due to the lifestyle aspects of the box, and although you won’t be seeing hugely high-end beauty brands included in each box like you would with the traditional beauty boxes around at the moment, you will get usable products that not only help boost your self-confidence, but can be re-purchased without breaking the bank, another big plus for anyone struggling with their wellbeing while also trying to manage a strict budget! They are also aiming to choose products, both beauty and lifestyle based, that are natural and eco-friendly too, so they really have taken away all the things you need to think about when shopping for anything from skin care and stationery and ensured EVERYTHING they include is as ethical as the idea behind the Artemis & Xena Box itself! So when you put all these well thought out aspects together you have a monthly box of treats that loves you as much as you love it, and with more and more of us suffering with mental health issues, or a physical health problem, it is a welcome and well needed addition to our growing independent subscription box market here in the UK, and one which will be perfect for so many people to enjoy as well!
